Smith defeats Kohli in race to 24 Test centuries

While Kohli completed his 24 centuries in 123 innings, Smith did that in his 118th Test innings, scoring 144 to rescue Australia on Day 1 of the opening Ashes Test in Birmingham on Thursday. The Aussies recovered from 122/8 to post 284 all out after deciding to bat first. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar had achieved the feat in his 125th Test innings.
